Dr. Andrea Matsumura was born in San Antonio Texas And attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for medical school. She had a desire to explore and thought she was an east coaster for sure. Little did she know when she did an externship as a fourth-year medical student in Oregon that she would fall in love with the West Coast and all things involving the outdoors. She quickly switched gears and ended up finishing her internal medicine residency in Portland Oregon.

In this special episode of Thrive Bites, I sit down with my lovely friend Dr. Khani Nguyen and in this two-part episode, we discuss what friendship means to us, her first plant-based experience, and how that all applies to our oral health! You don't want to miss this!
Dr. Khani Nguyen is a native of Monmouth County, New Jersey. She graduated from Rutgers University with high honors and a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences before attending Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio where she earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Since Dr. Khani has been practicing, she has become specialized through continuing education courses in advanced cosmetic dentistry, implant prosthesis, and hybrid dentures. She has also become an expert with the latest technologies including CEREC crowns, cone-beam computer technology, Invisalign, and implant restorations improving the results patients receive. She has a perfectionist mindset, is highly compassionate when it comes to patient care, and extremely sensitive to dental phobia.
Dr. Khani is an active member of the Seattle Study Club and the American Dental Association. She is also an associate board member of Casa de Monmouth where she volunteers with foster children. She currently resides on the Jersey Shore, where she enjoys playing beach volleyball with her husband, Bill. She is an active member of her church and volunteers regularly through various organizations in her community. In her free time, she enjoys art, theater, dance, traveling, and spending time with her family.
