In this episode, I speak with Sanaz about the values of engaging our inner and outer world and how our words and thoughts can affect that.
A psychologist, educator, and trauma-informed yoga teacher, Sanaz is an Iranian immigrant born and raised in Dubai who has lived in the United States since 2000. Sanaz roots the foundation of her work in academic and clinical psychology and has extensive experience working as a therapist in communities from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Sanaz’s own experience with trauma at a place of employment shifted her approach from psychotherapy alone to the embodied healing practices of yoga. Sanaz is currently running trauma-informed programming in refugee camps, offering yoga healing circles for refugees and resiliency training for humanitarian aid workers exploring secondary trauma and self-care.
